The CSD is a place where folks can engage, discuss, unpack, challenge, and grow. Through programs and initiatives, we provide opportunities for folks to build community by learning about themselves and the world around them.

I have worked in the CSD for 5 years and Human Library continues to be one of my favorite programs. Human Library curates a space for challenging stereotypes through dialogue between human books and their readers.

Fun Fact: I received a full ride scholarship to The Ohio State University when I was in the 6th grade thanks to the Young Scholars Program.

To me, the CSD serves as a mirror for the campus community鈥攔eflecting both who we are and who we strive to become. Since joining the CSD team in December 2023, I鈥檝e had the privilege of helping create spaces where people can reflect on their biases, challenge their perspectives, and build new connections. Just as importantly, we provide members of minoritized communities鈥攚ho are too often devalued鈥攚ith opportunities to see and celebrate the beauty, joy, and wonder they bring to the world.

The work we do at the CSD is vital because we offer a brave space for celebration, advocacy, learning, community-building, and breaking down barriers across identities. I have so many favorite CSD programs, but Lavender Graduation holds a special place in my heart鈥擨 love honoring and celebrating our incredible LGBTQIA+ students.

Fun fact: I wrote and published a book!

I believe that, like many underrepresented groups, APIMEDA communities are often rendered invisible or treated as a monolith鈥攁n approach that deeply impacts their sense of belonging on campus. It鈥檚 our responsibility to cultivate that belonging by creating safe and brave spaces where APIMEDA students feel seen, valued, and authentically represented.

Students place their trust in us as advocates, often turning to us with concerns and experiences they may not feel comfortable sharing with other staff or faculty. That trust not only strengthens their personal connection to the CSD, but also helps them build a more positive relationship with the broader campus community鈥攁llowing them to fully embrace and celebrate their identities.

I鈥檝e been proud to be part of the CSD since June 2022 and have deep admiration and respect for all the programs that grow from its mission.

Fun fact: I absolutely love horror movies鈥攁nd I like to sing to relieve stress.

The CSD is a place where magic happens鈥攁 space where we come together, dream big, and create meaningful cultural and educational opportunities. It鈥檚 a place where our uniqueness and diversity of thought are celebrated every day. The work we do at the CSD is both vital and deeply needed. It recognizes that students from the global majority and historically excluded groups benefit from a community away from home鈥攁 supportive space where they can learn from one another and grow into their full, authentic selves, while offering opportunities for the broader campus community to learn about and from these groups. Through our programming, we create opportunities for personal growth, academic success, and professional development of all.

I have been a part of this team since June 2025! The CSD offers many incredible programs, but one I especially look forward to is the Entre Nosotres initiative鈥攁 series of intimate gatherings where Latine voices come together to speak, listen, and be heard. This space is dedicated to fostering comunidad both within the Latine community and across the broader campus through meaningful conversations and shared experiences.

Fun Fact: I鈥檓 obsessed with pugs鈥擨 love watching reels, scrolling through pictures, and soaking up all the pug content I find. I even have one of my own: a sweet pug named Bruno!
