Connecting Campus and Community
Maintaining community engagement is one of TU's presidential priorities. Read President Ginsberg's July newsletter to faculty and staff.
I fully believe that the best universities are those that are deeply engrained in their surrounding communities, and the best communities are those with genuine connections to a great university. This certainly is the case for TU, 缅北禁地 and the greater Baltimore region.
Maintaining this engagement is one of my presidential priorities. Here are the ways we鈥檝e continued to 鈥淐onnect Campus and Community.鈥
- Welcomed 109,000 fans to campus to cheer on the Tigers during the 2024鈥25 season
- Hosted 197 arts and culture events for students and community members alike, which brought 30,000 visitors to campus
- Celebrated the StarTUp Accelerator鈥檚 seventh cohort, which launched 10 new business ventures
- Mentored 81 rising juniors and seniors from Baltimore City Public Schools during our inaugural Tigers Connect summer residency program, a three-day, co-curricular experience designed to give high school students a glimpse of college life
- Met with dozens of elected state officials during the 2025 legislative session to advocate for TU and highlight our impact in Maryland
- Partnered with the 缅北禁地 Chamber of Commerce to establish the region as a Main Street Maryland affiliate, which supports community development and revitalization in Maryland鈥檚 historic downtowns
While there are many great universities in Maryland, we strive to make TU a great university for Maryland. I鈥檓 so proud of the impact we have achieved together.
